Episode 1144: The Merry Widow

I explain how, without making the show any more complicated than it in fact was, they could have made the various Angeliques logically consistent with each other.

Episode 1147: The Strain

I say that David Henesy and Alexandra Moltke Isles, as David and Vicki in the first 42 weeks of Dark Shadows, used nonverbal communication to triumph over poor writing to present an interesting story of a troubled boy and a young woman learning to trust each other. I then try to explain why Henesy was unable to repeat that success as Tad in the “Meet Gerard” segment of the series.

Episode 1186: Fuck, Marry, Kill

I made two comments o this post. The one linked above discusses Daughters of Darkness, a 1971 film in which John Karlen plays a character who at first seems to be living the fantasy life of young men of the period, but who by the end turns out to be uncannily like Willie Loomis. He even has to dig a grave under the supervision of a vampire and the vampire’s short-haired female friend.

In the other comment, I explain my theory of how the events of the “Meet Gerard” arc (which includes 1995, 1970, and 1840) are undone by the end of episode 1198.

Episode 1187: I Presume You’ve Never Heard About Something Called Parallel Time

I describe episodes 1061-1198 as “Meet Gerard,” and try to think of ways that 1199-1245 could have been made more interesting.
